The executive director of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns was charged with DUI by Cranston police. Daniel L. Beardsley Jr., director of the league that represents local governments in dealings with the state, was charged with at 10:04 p.m. Sunday, a Cranston police sergeant confirmed Tuesday. While Mr. Beardsley indicated that he did not refuse the breathalyzer, it was not reported what the breath test readings were.
